7 Good Reason To Start A Membership Site

"Membership Sites Are Niiice!"

There’s been much talk and ‘hype’ surrounding membership sites recently. Notably based on Ryan Deiss’s Continuity BluePrint.

I personally haven’t purchased it so I can’t comment on it one way or the other. I have though watched all 3 of his pre-launch videos and they are absolutely brilliant! Possibly the best free information I have seen since becoming a full-time internet marketer.

If you’ve no idea what the heck I’m going on about, I strongly suggest you watch the videos for yourself.

After watching each video, I ended up with 4 pages of notes and some great ideas. So arm yourself with a pen and paper and a hot drink and watch the videos in order:

Video 1 - Million Dollar Napkin

Video 2 - The Snow Ball Effect

Video 3 - Publisher Model

Here are 5 reasons why the ‘continuity method’ or ‘membership site’ method is such a brilliant concept and is a business model you should seriously consider:

1. Residual Income - You sell a product once and get paid for it every month your customer remains a member. Isn’t that a more successful and time-efficient approach than continually trying to find new customers?

2. Increase The Value - You can increase the value of your membership site each month by adding more content. This in return will enable you to increase the membership fee in the future.

3. You Don't Need To Be An Expert - You can start a membership site without being an expert in anything. In one of the videos, Ryan gave an excellent definition: “Jack of all trades..master of none”. Doesn’t that apply to nearly every internet marketer that starts an online business?

I have a membership site in the health market, and I knew virtually nothing about the subject to begin with. Now I have a respected professional in the industry working with me - for free. The best part is..she approached me!

You can do the same. One method is to contact ‘experts’ in your particular market. It really is a lot easier than you think. And there are lots of other ways to find good content.

4. Cost -You can create a membership site for virtually nothing - you just need a domain name and hosting.

5. Speed - It IS possible to create a membership site in less than 12 minutes! If you've never tried building a simple membership site, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find out how quickly and easily they can be built.

Here’s the proof:

12 Minute Membership Site

6. Easy Maintenance - Once your membership site is up and running you only need to spend a small portion of your time driving traffic to your marketing funnel. The rest of the time you can concentrate on improving the site and helping your customers.

7. It Works! As long as you provide content that people want to know about and can be built upon each month, there’s no reason why you can’t be very successful.

The secret is to choose a subject/market that does interest you and you will be happy to spend most of your time researching, marketing etc.

It was coincidence that I launched my 2nd membership site just as Ryan Deiss released the Continuity Blueprint videos.

His videos provided extra help and information for me and re-confirmed my belief in the membership site model as an excellent business.

If you like the membership site model idea and your interest is in the internet marketing niche, why not join me and a select few in running your very own membership site?

I have created a 'membership site business model' that is ready to go from the off, and the paint is still drying as we speak.

You can see the site and the model here:- Super Easy Videos Membership Site.

The beauty with this membership is that I will be passing on all the new tips and methods that work for me, to my own members. That way I keep my members happy and they in turn become more successful.

I really do believe that the Membership Site Model is the best business model to have online right now if you are fairly new to internet marketing and haven’t yet got a large subscriber list.

If Ryan’s Continuity videos aren't reason enough to start one, then I don’t know what is!

Membership sites are the way to go. That was a good quick demo. Wordpress is a great program. But the demo misses some of the real things you will need - you don't want to have to manually create users each time someone subscribes, or have a common password for a protected page, there is no email marketing, affiliate campaign, or discussion forums. For all that I use Extreme Member (aff). There's a learning curve of course.

I like what Ryan Deiss teaches, as I also do membership sites, I just have trouble with the exorbitant price tag of the course. I was a member of Teaching Sells for a while, which had very useful content. But internet marketers seem to be to used to paying this for other products.

Very interesting, Peter.

I'm wondering, how much content do you need to launch? Obviously over tim eit will expand, but how much to get going on a membership site?

I'm also curious to know what you use for ecover generation. Most of the cheaper products don't look very good but the better ones all require photoshop (which isn't cheap).

@ Dave - It all depends on the type of content you have. If it's valuable enough you don't need much of it.

Plus you can always increase the membership price over time as your site expands.

As for ecover and other website graphics I always outsource it. This is one area where you need to look very professional and it is a false economy trying to do it yourself (unless that is your thing).
