What a fascinating year it has been..and still is!

I’ve only just got used to the idea of watching streaming videos of internet marketing products through my PC.

Now all of a sudden these internet marketing videos have hit main stream TV channels.

Living in the UK we are probably way behind this development, but this is the first time I have seen satellite TV broadcast an ‘entrepreneur shopping channel’.

How cool is that?!!

I watched with fascination 2 programs, repeated throughout the day, advertising 2 separate products. (I didn’t watch them ALL day!)

The first was ‘Secrets of an eBay Millionaire’ and the second was ‘The Psychology of Achievement’ by Brian Tracy.

These 2 products are very successful online and have obviously been chosen as flagship products to sell via (what is effectively) a shopping channel.

Amazingly these products were being sold a lot more than you can buy them online for!

I’m quite certain they sell a truck load of them too.

But the best thing about this ‘new’ entrepreneur channel is the hidden marketing lessons that come with it.

It really is an education in internet marketing at the highest level. These guys must pay thousands and thousands of dollars to have a TV slot like this and they must have tested the marketing to the ninth degree.

Just watching what comes up on the screen whilst the presenters talk through the product is fascinating.

Everything that ‘great copy’ should contain has been transferred to the big screen.

First of all the all important FREE phone number to order the product is always displayed at the bottom of the screen.

The price (including the shipping charge) is also always displayed.

There is the 30 day money back guarantee that flashes up in the corner at regular intervals.

There’s also the address to the website where you can buy the course online. This too is always displayed.

The actual interview between the presenter and the owner of the product (in this case Brian Tracy) is like a live, acted-out sales copy.

It is packed with benefits, sample extracts of the course, real life testimonials, the owners’ credibility highlighted and much, much more!

But the best thing about this ‘live sales copy’ is the introduction of passion and enthusiasm through the owner and the presenter.

This for me was what kept me watching the screen. It is the emotion and human contact that a written sales copy can’t portray, that really sells the product.

This is why it is more important than ever to start incorporating audio and video to websites and blogs.

We all know that using video online increases sales. It’s a proven and accepted concept.

But until you actually watch a full blown marketing, info-commercial, you don’t realize how powerful this method is.

When you get the chance I highly recommend you watch one of these broadcasts.

Sit down with a pen and paper and jot down what you noticed about the program, what caught your eye (or ear) and what your conclusions were.

Think about how you can transfer any of those marketing techniques to your own sales copy or even your own video presentation if you’re at that stage.

You may also identify anything that annoyed you or you thought didn’t work.

Personally, with regard to Brian Tracy’s presentation, I didn’t understand why they chose to include a postage and packing fee. The product was priced ridiculously high as it was and surely it would have looked better to advertise free p&p.

This one thing really confused me. I wonder if it has been tested against displaying a small p&p fee? I’m not sure but it wouldn’t surprise me if it had.

Believe me, this is some of the best internet marketing education you will find anywhere…and it’s all free on a TV channel near you!

If you don’t have the ‘internet channel’ where you live, here’s the link to the actual presentation that is being broadcast here in the UK:
