The Ultimate Niche Market – Part 2

finding-my-niche.jpg

Shortly I will reveal to you what I personally believe to be the ultimate niche market. A rabid market with money to spend. Don’t presume though that every other niche market isn’t worth your time and effort.

There are internet marketers making thousands of dollars a day through niche markets and there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t either.

But if you are relatively new to internet marketing I would strongly urge you to research a niche that you are interested in and one that you wouldn’t mind spending quite a bit of your time working on.

Having said that, there is one niche market that you should seriously consider building a long term business around…

The Internet Marketing Niche

I’m sure it was no surprise to the majority of you that I choose the internet marketing niche as the absolute best niche to market to.

Even as a complete beginner to internet marketing, you can build a successful business in this niche. In fact it can actually be more advantageous to be a newbie because other newbies will relate to you and identify with you much more readily.

There are 2 reasons why I wanted to write this 2 part article:

The first reason is because for some time now (approx 2 years) I have concentrated the majority of my online efforts marketing to various niche markets. I actually started doing this full-time when I left my previous job and it brought in a fair income. Not great, but enough to keep my head above water.

I sell ebooks from various websites and even have a membership site in a particular health niche.

This is the popular marketing model that the majority of internet ‘gurus’ and experts advise us to follow. And that’s exactly what I had been doing up until about 6 months ago.

The problem I found was I was working full-time and often putting in long hours for what seemed like very little reward.

Each of my sites was generating perhaps a sale every other day or every few days. I was also dealing with customer support issues, questions, refunds etc. as well as trying to master Google Adwords!

Sure the money wasn’t bad, but I was convinced it could be a whole lot more! I decided to write a small report based on my findings and what techniques were working for me.

It was aimed at beginners wanting to learn how to generate a consistent income online within a reasonable time.

The title of the report is ‘Zero To Fifty In 30 Days’ – How to start from zero to make over $50 a day within 30 days. I still sell copies of this report today and have had a ton of positive feedback and testimonials.

Now this report totally opened my eyes to the possibilities of marketing to the internet marketing niche. I only did one joint venture with a successful internet marketer and the sales flooded in at an amazing rate!

And I was a nobody in the internet marketing world! I wasn’t a guru and didn’t claim to be an expert. But people related to me and my story. But they also acted on blind faith because a recognized guru in the industry gave the report a great review and recommended it.

The visitor stats and sales during the first 4 weeks of launching that report were like nothing I’d seen during my previous 18 months selling 6 other niche ebooks.

For those of you who know my story, you’ll also remember that PayPal closed my account midway through! It was a complete nightmare because I had an affiliate program for the report using PayPal affiliate links.

I had to re-write the end of the report and the sales letter and set up a new payment process. But even this setback didn’t stop the traffic and sales.

The report sells for less than ten bucks which is more than a third less than my niche ebooks and yet sells more than 5 times the amount and builds my opt-in list much faster.

The whole, mad process made me re-think my online business and what direction I was heading. I just knew that marketing to internet marketers was the way forward.

Hallelujah For John Reese!

Reason no. 2 for writing this article is thanks to John Reese.

John Reese is one of the most successful and respected internet marketers online today and he has been responsible for my decision to focus almost entirely on the internet marketing niche.

Last month he produced a video. The screen title read ‘Warning ..This Shocking Video Contains Controversial Information’. I watched the video even though I had no idea what it was about. It was like a 'hallelujah' moment for me!

Here was one of the greatest internet marketing experts of our time, preaching the benefits of marketing to fellow internet marketers.

He also ran a 3 day, online workshop that totally confirmed what I was already thinking and I have not looked back since.

The video is about 55 minutes long and starts out with a confession from John himself that he has been misleading people about the best ways to make money online. But not just John, nearly every other successful ‘Guru’ and ‘mentor’ online.

Here’s the video:

JohnReeseVideo.jpg

When I started online, I too was lead to believe that it is far more sensible to stay away from the internet marketing niche because it’s too competitive and you don’t have enough experience or knowledge to share with anyone.

But just as John points out, this way of thinking is totally wrong and you can market to this niche even as a complete newbie. In a moment I’ll give you a prime example of how a complete newbie can benefit from the internet marketing niche.

John “blows apart 10 preconceived myths” that have been peddled online to convince people not to focus on the Internet Marketing niche:

Myth #1 You have no business selling “make money online” products if you’ve never actually made money online yourself.

Myth #2 The Internet Marketing niche really isn’t that big, and there’s already too much competition.

Myth #3 You’ll never be able to compete with the top marketers.

Myth #4 You cant make much money in the Internet Marketing market because its so hard to become recognized as an expert.

Myth #5 You cant make much money in that niche unless you have a massive opt-in email list like the “gurus.”

Myth #6 Its too expensive to buy “internet marketing” or “make money” traffic.

Myth #7 You wont make much money unless you are able to do JVs with the big-name marketers, and its nearly impossible because its a private “club.”

Myth #8 It’s too late to build a business in the Internet Marketing market because others have a 5-year or more head-start on me.

Myth #9 I can’t be successful in that market because I’m not a techie that knows HTML, Flash, and other programming languages.

Myth #10 It’s stupid to try and make money from Internet Marketing information because everything can be found online for free.

John explains why they are all myths and goes on to list 7 compelling reasons why the internet marketing niche is the best niche in the world to market to.

The points he makes are very hard to argue against and are even more substantiated when you compare them against other more typical niche markets.

Become An Internet Marketing Advisor

As John says, the way to become successful in the internet marketing niche is to become an IMA – Internet Marketing Advisor.

This has a much better sound to it than ‘Guru’, ‘Mentor’ or ‘Marketing Expert’ and is a title anyone can adapt once they start to learn the basics.

You really need to watch the video to fully appreciate why anyone can break into the internet marketing niche. It is not nearly as difficult as you may think and the rewards are just staggering.

If you can read a PDF report or listen to an audio or video recording, then you are capable of becoming an IMA. People review products all the time, why not do it for the internet marketing niche?

This Could Be You..

Here’s the example I mentioned earlier of how a complete newbie can position them selves perfectly within the internet marketing niche. It actually looks at the opportunity from a different perspective, but demonstrates how easy it can be for a newbie to become immediately involved:

Two days ago I received an email from a lady on my list. She is new to internet marketing and wanted to ask my opinion about a project she has started.

Here is her email:

Hi Peter,

I've been reading your blog now for a little over a month and have really enjoyed it.

I've been struggling trying to find information that is real for a while now and your info is real. I've also recently discovered the 30 Day Challenge and wanted to ask if you'd heard anything about it and the guys sponsoring it - Ed Dale and Dan Raine.

Basically it's a 30 day course for online marketers that's free - I keep waiting for the catch - but so far no charge for the info. And the info has been great. The course shows off a lot of free tools available online such as Twitter and Stumble Upon. I'm only on day 8 but I've learned a lot especially on mining for niches.

They have some really interesting videos using Google Trends and Word Tracker to determine whether key words from Word Tracker really will have the traffic that Word Tracker states it will.

It's fascinating stuff, although it's probably too basic for someone like yourself. Anyway, if you’re interested I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

Thanks!

I replied to her email yesterday and suggested a great way to create a really useful internet marketing product based on her experience with the 30 Day Challenge. If you are not familiar with the 30 Day Challenge you should check it out.

Here was my reply:

Hi Wendy,

Yes, I would love to know how you get on.

Here's an idea for you;
Why not write down everything you do with the 30 day challenge? i.e. like a diary format. At the end of the challenge and once you've made your first ten dollars through following the challenge, you could create a product based on the process.

You could use whatever your niche product is that you intend to sell as the case study and document everything you do.

It would make a GREAT product and I don't believe anyone else has done anything similar. A simple 20 page report is all you would need.

The beauty of this is that you could easily follow it up with another product based on the same method but after refining everything and using different tactics to make even more sales etc.

So not only would you end up with the product you created with the 30 Day Challenge, but also a unique, internet marketing product that explains exactly how a newbie followed the 30DC process to make their first sale online!

Sounds like a winner to me!

Best regards,

Peter

Does this idea sound at all difficult? It is a really simple idea that will sell extremely well as an internet marketing product in its own right.

That’s just one of hundreds of examples a complete newbie could do to position them selves as an IMA.

The Power of Leverage

I want to conclude this article with what is probably the most powerful reason for becoming an IMA or producing your own internet marketing product.

Leveraging other people’s lists. The internet marketing niche has some incredibly successful and savvy entrepreneurs that easily make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year online.

There are thousands of these successful marketers that have opt-in lists of equal proportion and they are crying out for good quality, original products to promote to their lists.

Just 1 joint venture deal could catapult not only your income, but your online status and credibility. Absolutely no other market can command such potential.

If it something you are interested in, then becoming an Internet Marketing Advisor is so easy to do and has such high rewards.

I know it’s not everyone’s ‘cup of tea’ and there are many other great money making opportunities out there. But if you are new to internet marketing and still undecided, or your current online business isn’t working out as you hoped for, I highly recommend this model to you.

I would love to hear your comments on the video and/or my article..

Peter - I totally agree with you about marketing in the internet marketing niche. It's often people who don't know how sell on the internet buying from people who don't know how to sell on the internet either. I was one of those. But you know, that's how we all learn, isn't it? It's so much better to keep trying even if you don't know what you're doing. When you look at the gurus, didn't they do the very same thing? Absolutely. Okay, so now I've figured out a very cool way to sell. Check out my niche widget - it's for all niche marketers. And frankly, you should have one on this blog :) David Perdew

Let's see, John admits to lying to everyone in past, yet we're supposed to believe he's telling the truth now, lol?

All hail King John, the newest emperor with no clothes.

The only empty suit with more blind followers that I can think of is Barack Obama.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I bought your product 'Zero To Fifty In 30 Days' when it first came out. Because it involved targeting Internet marketers, I didn't implement it because of the Internet marketing niche myths mentioned here.

John Reese's 3 day training course at $2500 is too rich for me but I think I'll give your product another look as a way to get started in this niche.

Great info Peter, I remember only too well your product and the rave reviews it got…. And having bought it - I too, was impressed at the quality of the info (It\'s one of the few products I have ever printed off..lol)

What makes me laugh is the number of people (myself included) who have been saying as much to our own subscribers for a long time …. only to be ignored because we're not 'gurus' so what would we know.. The John mentions it…and it\'s a big shocking revelation …lolNow it seems there are hoards of people 'claiming' they've been saying so for years (so it's easier to NOT say so) …hehe

I totally agree with what you said to your subscriber (Wendy), that really is great advice.

And for all the people who still have no idea how to get a start, how about at least getting a blog up and writing down their honest opinions of products they've bought… A simple review site would get a start - then if they followed any product they were impressed with - they could also have a similar product to Wendy, detailing the steps they took.

I've debated with people who say they're in research mode (for YEARS!!), and I often quote the apollo missions… For 98% of their journey they were OFF COURSE - but by continuing with minor course corrections along the way - they reached the moon !!

The main thing is to do something, make a start. After that if people can find their passion — they'll be well on their way. Yeah - shut up Randy…. (Rambling Again) - sorry Peter, but your posts are good and invoke a response.

Warm Regards Randy
